EL BOLAVENTO
A STORY
In the sixties, a venerable man named Don Alonso de Montalbán lived in the city of Granada. He was renowned for his deep knowledge of the typical products from every corner of the province. His love for Granada and its rich tradition was especially evident during the Corpus Christi festival, days when the streets filled with life and color, and he wanted to preserve that light and joy in his gatherings. The essential dishes, such as meatballs, garlic pork loin, and Russian salad, delighted all the diners.
At one of his gatherings, Don Alonso shared a story with his friends that he had heard from his grandfather when he was a child: “From the mountains of Sierra Nevada, a magical wind blows carrying the whispers of people’s wishes. It’s the ‘Bolavento‘, full of energy and bringing with it a promise of exciting adventures and discoveries to those brave enough to follow it.” His tale captured the imagination of everyone present, and it became a recurring topic in their conversations during that Corpus Christi and the ones that followed. Being driven by the wind and seeking new experiences became the metaphor of their lives. Exploring the richness of Granadian cuisine and savoring each moment.
